Here's a plugin for Half-Life 2: Deathmatch that makes grenade, rocket, and barrel explosions create giant plumes of fire whenever they go off.

CVars:
sm_epic_explosions - 0/1 (Enables/Disables Epic Explosions.)

Requires SDKHooks.

Known Issues:
- Fire sometimes seems to stick around for extended periods of time (10 seconds up to an entire minute) after some explosions, but will eventually disappear. This is extremely rare, and seems to be associated with Client lag and a bug in HL2DM itself, which I don't think I can resolve myself. Basically, the client doesn't always get informed that the entity is no longer there if they have a lag hitch, and the client needs to be "Woken up" for it to realize that it's been eliminated from the world. (Usually another explosion spawning is enough for the game state to update and fix it.) Never had that issue in TF2 or any other source game.
